As darkness grew in front of his eyes, he could not recognise people in front of him, except from their voices. Ironically, he grew increasingly dependent on others for completing the smallest daily tasks. He started accepting this as a part of ageing. The Foundation even sent its vehicle to fetch him as he had no escort. At the camp, he was counselled by experienced personnel from the Foundation and Eye-Specialists. A thorough check-up revealed that his cataract was severe. On 28 November 2018, Janu found his vision back at the Bhakti Vedanta Hospital, Mira Road in Mumbai. Samta Foundation handheld him through the process.
